Drummond Read prepare reports for litigation purposes, which are based on an academic as well as practical knowledge of the auction and retail markets.

Cases involving a diverse range of art or antique related topics can be managed and a report provided, with a fully reasoned approach, in accordance with the requirements of Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.

Their serviced office locations are well placed for meeting both with the instructing solicitor, counsel or hosting dispute resolution meetings if required.

Expert Witness

Legal reports can be provided for Civil and Criminal cases in relation to lost, damaged or stolen items where there is dispute. They also offer advice and act for solicitors involved in both criminal and civil actions where valuations of antiques, fine art, collectables and jewellery are required. They are regulated by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and will act as either a Sole or Joint Expert. They are experienced both in court attendance and video link.

Forensic

Drummond Read receive enquiries where a Forensic investigation of both circumstances as well as the chattels themselves are required.

For a number of years Colin Read lectured on an annual basis at the Police National Art and Antiques Squad conference in Hampshire.

Odette Moon is the first point of contact for enquiries of this nature with over 30 years’ experience in this field and works closely with the instructing party examining such cases.
